When you enter Albatross Nest you find yourself in a spectacular retreat with panoramic views overlooking the vast Caribbean, the coastline of St. Lucia and the island of Martinique. Sailboats and and ships are mesmerizing to watch day and night as you gaze down at the sea and out on the horizon. The beaches below the villa in front of the Cap Maison and Le Sport resorts are a 5 minute drive away and welcome visitors for swimming, sunning and water sports. They are also good places for lunch and dinner. But you don’t want to miss the sunsets at Albatross Nest while floating in the pool with an evening beverage or lounging on the terraces and open living room. We found that we often wanted to stay for dinner and got groceries in Rodney Bay, just a ten minute drive away. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a great outdoor grill. The staff is outstanding with a manager who will arrange anything you need. We had a wonderful day on a boat down to the famous Pitons. The housekeeper and gardener kept the house and grounds immaculate and were very friendly and accommodating. We rented a car, which was all arranged by the house manager, and delivered and picked up at the house. The driving can be a bit challenging but easy enough and good to have the mobility and flexibility for short trips to the market, restaurants and beaches. We’d recommend a cab for longer trips like to to the airport, Pitons or rain forest. Overall, we had a verymemorable family experience.

Albatross Nest offers a true Caribbean Experience. The open great room allows a full 180 degree view of the beautiful Caribbean along with the rugged St. Lucia coastline. Popular Pigeon Island is fully visible from the expansive veranda. The property gardens were immaculate and vibrant, attracting many colorful hummingbirds and butterflies. We loved the pair of finches that visited us regularly. The pool was a perfect size for the 4 of us and the bridge was a charming shortcut. The bedrooms were an adequate size with plenty of storage. Although they were all air conditioned, I chose to turn off my air conditioner and enjoy the relaxing sounds of the ocean at night. The pictures on the website accurately depict this property and the view.

We rented a car for 2 days to explore on our own. Driving was not easy, but we always found where we were trying to go. Our favorite spot was the Pink Plantation House in Castries for lunch. The staff at Albatross Nest was very pleasant and unobtrusive. The hammock was popular with all of us.

I visited with my two adult daughters and son in law. This was a perfect location for us and I would definitely return and recommend Albatross Nest to others.

This was our 5th stay at Albatross Nest and once again we had a fabulous time. The 4 ensuite bedrooms are ideal for friends and family staying with us. We BBQ some nights and go out on others. This year we managed to buy some live lobster which we pre-cooked then finished on the BBQ. We never get tired of the sensational views. Villa manager Kris Wagner is a star and staff Ivy and Michael are great.

Looking forward to our next visit!

From the moment we arrived, our stay was perfect. We joined friends who had arrived 10 days before and already looked totally rested and rejuvenated. The views are better than the photos show, and a gentle breeze kept us comfortable day and night. Kris the manager looked after us and advised on anything we needed from car hire, taxis, restaurants, fishing, scuba diving, and much more. She knows the Island so well and has a trusted group of contacts. Our maid Ivy made us smile every day and nothing was too much trouble. Undoubtedly we will recommend Villa Albatross Nest to our friends and hope to return again in the future.

Everything was perfect from start to finish! Probably one of the nicest rentals on the North shore of St. Lucia! We had 3 couples and it worked perfectly! We ended up not wanting to leave the house as the pictures do not do it justice! Kris was wonderful for directions and information. Definitely recommend having a private dinner at the house, snorkeling off Le sport, and a daysail to the Gros Pitons.

My wife and I had the most beautiful honeymoon in St. Lucia. We decided to rent a villa over doing the all-inclusive route because it would force us to explore more of the island. This was definitely the way to go, we got to mix it up with the locals, experience their culture, cuisine, and just their way of life. Albatross Nest offers the best of both worlds. If you want to spend time alone with your significant other and feel like you have the entire island to yourself then Albatross Nest is your place. If you want to be close to Rodney Bay and everything that city life offers, then Albatross Nest is your place. We spent almost every afternoon lounging around the pool drinking Pitons and just starring at the beautiful ocean. Waking up and cooking breakfast in the open air living room will be something we will always remember. Michael the gardener and Odessa the maid are both very personably and pleasant people. We both enjoyed talking with them and hearing their stories. Odessa even taught us how to play dominos one rainy day. Most of the time when looking at pictures about villas and or places to rent, the pictures usually paint a much nice picture. This is NOT the case with Albatross Nest. The villa and views are both exactly as they are portrayed in the pictures. If you thinking about St. Lucia, Albatross Nest will defiantly not disappoint.

What a fabulous Villa. Having been to St. Lucia before we knew we wanted to be on the North end of the Island. Villa Albatross Nest was perfect for our family of 4. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. We were in love after the first great nights rest. Having been told by my surgeon prior to vacation that it would be a lay by the pool and relax trip for me…it was truly what the Dr. ordered. The views are absolutely stunning from every direction. The Master has a great view of the pool with the Caribbean sea beyond. My daughters each had their own rooms and loved the accommodations provided. The whole Villa is so open and airy…perfection. I can’t say enough about the staff. Kris runs a tight ship and everything was very organized and no detail left without notice. Ivey…oh my goodness what a gem. We loved our daily visits with her and loved her beautiful personality. Timothy and Gildas were so great to check in on us…we never felt unsafe at all. Michael keeps the grounds spotless and beautiful.

If you’re looking for a piece of paradise on earth…look no more. My family and I can’t wait to return next year.

“Paradise!

My seven girlfriends and I stayed at the villa during St. Lucia’s Jazz Festival. The location was perfect (only five minutes away). The views were breathtaking, and the service was phenomenal. Kris, the property manager, saw to our every need: reservations, suggestions, pre-stocking, rental cars, etc. Her lovely German accent and quick wit was charming. The cook, Kashama, was exceptional and catered for us on three separate nights. Ivy, the housekeeper, was a handy at everything and always had a welcome smile, as did all the staff. The villa is so well positioned that a cool breeze always blows throughout the house. It was clean, well cared-for and beautiful. It was a lovely experience and one that I know will be repeated.”

“Albatross Nest is the best.

Our girls group (8 of us) rented Albatross Nest in early May. It is a lovely home and was supplied with everything we wanted and needed and even more. We felt very safe because it is gated, had security and an alarm system. It was very well maintained. The pool was very clean. Our manager was wonderful and the housekeeper was the best. It is the best house our group has ever rented. The views from the house are spectacular. I highly recommend renting this house.”

The Greaves – Benford Family

“This place is paradise and the house is absolutely incredible. Gabriel and Sasha have made is feel perfectly at home. Thank you!

Hope to return to Villa Bliss many times over the course of my life.

Villa Bliss has been an amazing place to stay and St. Lucia is truly gorgeous.

Thanks for everything.”

“We had a wonderful week at Villa Bliss!

We took a tour around the Island, all of us together in a small bus, rainforests were beautiful, some of our group hiked the piton, went zip lining, horseback riding on the beach. St. Lucia has a wide variety of activities and the beaches are very nice.

We visited Pigeon Island which was great. Our last day, we discovered Cotton Bay and the little beach and restaurant there, very relaxing few hours. We cooked in most of the time and that worked well as the supermarket were well stocked.

We visited the marketplace in Castries on Saturday. It was crowded with locals as there were no ships in port. We found serenity and had a nice couple of hours walking the streets.

St. Lucia really is “Simply Beautiful” and we hope to return someday!”

Barbara & David Wayman

“The ten of us enjoyed our week in the wonderful house very much. We especially loved the pool!!

St. Lucia is a very beautiful island with beautiful people. Everyone was very friendly & welcoming. Sasha & Gabriel were great! Kris was here whenever we needed her and on short notice. Thank you so much all three of you. It was the most relaxing week for all of us. Breathtaking views and great weather. We ate at “Delirious” twice because we all enjoyed it so much. The “Fire Grill” was also very good. We has fun hiking on Pigeon Island at Fort Rodney and Signal Peak and enjoyed the restaurant and beach on the island.

All of us agree this has been one of our best vacation experiences and we are grateful to all who helped in making it so. Thank you and God bless St. Lucia.

With sincere appreciation.”

The Radicchi Family

Kris and her staff here are amazing. From the start of the booking process all the way through arrival and our stay, everything was perfect for our family of 14 to include 7 children ages 1 through 10. Food is delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Beach is a 5 minute walk. Kris’ perfection at execution of her “job” is beyond anything I could write here. We will definitely be back. Thanks DVOSL for our amazing stay. If you want an amazing family vacation in St. Lucia this is the place to be.

Spent a week at Villa Capri with a group of 20 and it was just wonderful. Christine the owner really looked after us, we were well fed with a fantastic spread every night and the villa is lovely. Very comfortable with a great location. Came home and was telling friends about our great experience and it turns out that they booked Villa Capri to host their wedding guests 10 years ago and that Christine had done an excellent job of looking after them then. 10 years of fanstic service – well done!

***

I just stayed here with a medical mission team. Kris and her staff were more than wonderful and supportive! If you are looking at a trip for your family or another group, I would highly recommend booking Villa Capri. If you can organize meal preparation by the kitchen staff, do it! Some of the best food you will have in the Caribbean…

***

This villa is great, especially for large groups. The staff are really friendly and accommodating. The view is great and its walking distance to the beach. We had amazing food (catering for all dietary requirements).

***

I was fortunate to stay at the Villa as part of the Caribbean Spay project. Our team was treated to a first class accommodation by Chris and the staff. The food was excellent!! I loved he pool and the beach was a short walk down the hill. We’re given excellent advise for local tour and activities. This would be an excellent get away for a family group trip, wedding or small corporate retreat.

***

We visited Villa Capri to see if it was a good place for a friends destination wedding. Luckily we saw some of the setup and had an opportunity to walk around. It is only 5 minutes walk from 2 beaches and golfer will like to hear that the Saint Lucia Golf club is less than 1 minute by Taxi from the villa. It seems really well priced for up to 20 people and some of the friends can either stay in another villa or a hotel nearby. Most fun we had with a visit to the Gros Islet street party on Friday night

***

Great for family gatherings or small groups celebrating as we were. Lots to do. Local beach horse riding in the sea! Zip wire fun park. Capri has super views out to sea. Lovely spot. Warm welcome. Kris and staff friendly and accomodating. Only drawback is steep slope/drive but not a real problem. Dinner can be booked or taxi into Rodney bay Marina restaurants. We also used Le Sport resort opposite. You can get a day pass to include lunch and drinks.

***

Never having been to St Lucia before I can’t imagine a better place to stay. Kris and her staff were awesome!! Whatever we needed or asked for we got, they made every effort to accommodate, even when we were not expecting dinner, (but wished we had ordered it, after a long day out and about), Odeyssa stayed up late and cooked another delicious meal, always taking care of those of us who eat meat and those who are vegetarians. When I asked about getting a surprise birthday cake made for my daughter, wholla!, it was made from scratch to beautiful, delicious perfection!! They even surprised us by doing up special decorations and place settings. I would not hesitate to recommend the Villa Capri to anyone and hope to have the opportunity to go back there again… next time for a longer stay! We all wanted to come up with valid excuses for why we missed our flights home.

***

Lovely villa staff are very attentive, friendly and could not do more for you, view are spectacular, room is nice size, clean and comfy I stayed in calabash, with its ornate chairs and beautiful views. Bed was comfy air con worked well. Overall lovely place to be.

***

“So glad we stayed here.

We had a company outing for 12 here. As we are in the accommodation business we tend to be rather critical of places we stay…and this was voted the best place we’ve ever stayed as a group. The location was great – walking distance to the beach, a short drive into town. The ocean view amazing. The rooms super comfy and the attention from the staff, from the house manager to the cooks to housekeeping was perfect. Food tasted great, house manager Kris was willing to put up with us (we can be difficult) and help us out with anything and provide great recommendations and the house was always very clean. Loved the multi-tiered areas for relaxing and the pool. We didn’t want to leave the property!”

“We had our wedding at Villa Capri with friends and family. This was without a doubt the best decision we made. The planning process was a few emails with Kris (villa manager) and before we knew it we were arriving to everything we requested, and more. Villa Capri exceeded every expectation we had. The villa is old but very unique and has lots of character, it is beautifully decorated and very cool. The staff keep it clean and are very friendly to accommodate your requests. The wedding day was awesome, Kris transformed the villa into a beautifully decorated reception venue as we got married on Pigeon island park. The food all week was fantastic (I recommend the fully catered option – don’t waste your time getting groceries, or alcohol), let Kris take care of you and enjoy your time. The food for the wedding was amazing, best food we had on the Island. We went out for dinner twice during the week and both times everyone was “slightly” disappointed we didn’t just eat at the villa. Kris is awesome, she will make your vacation/wedding something to remember. This is the place you should book if you are considering getting married in St Lucia, or if you just want an amazing vacation with friends and family. You will not be disappointed with Villa Capri and Kris.”

“Wish we were back in Beautiful St. Lucia!”
We celebrated my Husband’s 50th Birthday at Villa Capri and I must say it was a spectacular Birthday celebration. We travelled with 14 Friends and everyone had a great time! Kris is AMAZING and takes care of your every need. The house is VERY clean and was beyond our expectations. I would highly recommend taking Kris’s suggestion on excursions and restaurant choices if you decide to eat out. However, the staff at Villa Capri did a wonderful job cooking themselves so staying in is also a pleasure!
Thanks again Kris for such a wonderful time. We miss you!
I would recommend this to anyone who wants to spend quality time with Friends and Family in a home like atmosphere.

“Fabulous”
Without a doubt a great place to stay. Close to the beach. Great for a big group. Chris was extremely helpful. Our driver George was very cool. It was like being home away from home. We can’t thank Chris enough for all her recommendations for where to go for fun, eating and relaxation

“Villa Capri – Second week of vacation”
We need a villa to sleep 21 family members over a week in August for my husbands birthday. Villa Capri had the rooms we needed and the facilities for a large birthday celebration. Before arrival I needed to co-ordinate the food and entertainment for the party. This was seamless with Kris the villas manager. She ensured that the quality of the food ( prepared on site ) was top class and the entertainment also top quality. Kris also managed to get everything I wanted within budget and didn’t go over. I had given Kris an idea of colours for decorations and pictures of the cake. Although I did take extra decorations Kris decorated the villa beautifully and the cake was superb. All the staff were polite and helpful as well as friendly.

I would recommend the villa for weddings and parties. Kris and her staff didn’t let me down and our family had a great stay.

Yoga Retreat, October 2006

Together with friends I have just spent 2 fantastic weeks at Xanadu in St Lucia. This beautiful Villa is everything it claims to be and more. It offers total tranquility and privacy with sea and coastal views better than I have ever seen before. The property is in an open elevated position which we quickly learned has two huge advantages in this tropical location, one is that mosquitoes have no cover and two, they dislike the sea breezes that keep the pool and terrace a very pleasant place to be day and night.

In other holidays I have spent in St Lucia at other Villas I found insects can sometimes be a problem because of surrounding vegetation and still air, not at Xanadu.

Management of the villa is very good with nothing too much trouble and our daily maid, Viola was a ray of sunshine.

I cannot recommend this interesting and unique villa highly enough, frankly a stay there is worth every cent and in my opinion worth a lot more than they charge but don’t tell them. I want to go back!

***

My husband and I together with two friends spent a fantastic week in Villa Xanadu. The reality of this amazing villa exceeded our best expectations. We arrived just in time for a breathtaking sunset. Kris the villa manager welcomed us. She had stocked up the fridge with everything from our shopping list which we had sent to her a week before. So we had a great first meal in the Villa after travelling all day. After a good night sleep in very comfortable beds our holiday began. The first day we didn´t go anywhere, we just enjoyed the giant pool, the wonderful breeze and the exceptional 270° views. From the terrace you look straight at the island of Martinique, very clear during the day and beautifully lit up at night. I loved to read under the Frangipani Tree overlooking Pigeon Island, Rodney Bay and down the Caribbean coast whilst the others were enjoying themselves in the pool on the other side of the dome. It is very special that the pool enters the living area. Great fun!

The next day we discovered a footpath from the villa directly to the beach at the bottom of our hillside. 15 min. walking distance. Great for swimming and snorkelling. Shops, supermarkets and excellent restaurants all just a short drive away.

Viola the housekeeper was very friendly and helpful. She kept the villa very clean and tidy for us. The two men disappeared a few times to the nearby golf course and enjoyed their round of golf.

We went on two day trips. One to the rainforest for zip lining and another one to Soufriere in the south of the island -near the Pitons- to the vulcanic sulfur springs and bathed in the hot water pools. So relaxing.

There is so much more we could have done but we also loved to spent time in this magnificent Villa Xanadu to enjoy the peace and tranquility. A special thanks to Kris the villa manager who did a fantastic job looking after us! We will be coming back for more!

***

My kids and I had an amazing stay in St. Lucia at Villa Xanadu! The villa is breath taking and so is the view! The photos of it are beautiful, but it is so much more in person! Kris, the manager did a great job of stocking us with groceries, setting up our excursions and rental car, and making sure everything was perfect! We didn’t want to leave! I highly recommend Villa Xanadu!

***

Xanadu is spectacular! The villa layout is both unique and highly functional. There are breathtaking views from every window and with each step surrounding the property. Each of the guest suites were thoughtful from comfortable bedding and décor to private access which made for easy escapes to reading, naps or bed time (fantastic air conditioning and private bathrooms in each bedroom). The photographs of the property are very accurate. This is a very special place that invites relaxation. Viola, the villa’s housekeeper, was delightful. She was on site for the week days of our stay making us comfortable and keeping things tidy for a set number of hours each day. The property manager, Kris, provided excellent customer service leading up to our arrival and certainly upon greeting us at Xanadu. Kris was available to answer questions and assist with any request during the entire stay. We found the locals in St. Lucia to be beautiful, kind people. A car rental was helpful during our stay for daily runs to the grocery store (ice, fresh foods for the grill) and simple outings to local beaches, parks, restaurants. There are plenty of places to dine, shop, walk, and enjoy the island life within close proximity of the villa. The roads in St. Lucia take some navigating and a lot of time as traffic is heavy thus we did not venture terribly far from the villa though we could have — mainly we did not want to spend much time away from the beauty and relaxation offered at Xanadu! Lunches at the Naked Fisherman and Jambe de Bois were two of our favorites that are very near the villa (easy drive to each). We enjoyed a special dinner at The Cliff (at Cap Maison resort) – excellent service and delicious food! The Coal Pot in Castries made for a very nice lunch during our one outing to the capital. Good food and really great service was never hard to find on the island. Pigeon Island/Fort Rodney is a must-do outing for any visitor. The beaches and views from ground-level are stunning but the hike to Fort Rodney (and then up to Signal Peak) is spectacular and offers amazing views and great photo opportunities. Jambe de Bois (restaurant) is in the park and as mentioned offers a great lunch and dinner. I highly recommend Xanadu and the “north end” of St. Lucia to any traveler!

***

My wife and I spent a week at Villa Xanadu and loved it. The domed living area makes the house. On clear days you can see Martinique in the distance and at night you see the lights. The pool when lit up at night is very pretty. You can really have fun with the acoustics of the dome. To illustrate how great the villa was, my wife never turned on the TV, and she loves TV. We went to the grocery store in Rodney Bay and cooked most breakfasts and a couple of dinners. We also ate at The Naked Fisherman, Tapas Bar, Spinnakers, Flavours of the Grill, andKey Largo pizza (takeout to eat at villa). The villa is just a short hop away from Rodney Bay and Gros Islet. Thanks to Diane, Kris, and especially Viola for making our stay so great.

***

When we booked our stay at Xanadu, there were no reviews to guide us. We were not disappointed. Everything was wonderful and a camera couldn’t possibly capture the actual beauty of the view.

Three couples stayed for a week and there was plenty of room for everyone. The quality of the furnishings was excellent. Very comfortable beds. Viola , the housekeeper, was very nice and helpful. Kris, the property manager, was extremely professional and knowledgeable about the area.

My best advice for someone wanting to book a stay at Xanadu, follow Kris’ directions from the airport and DO NOT make the mistake of taking the scenic route up the other side of the island. It took twice as long and they are the scariest roads I have ever been on.

A stay at Xanadu is paradise. I highly recommend it. Thank you for sharing this beautiful home with us.

***

We arrived in St. Lucia on December 20th – which would make us the 2nd visitors to Xanadu 🙂 Our drive from Vieux Fort Airport was closer to 2 hours, due to traffic. Another option would have been to take a jumper flight from Vieux Fort to the George Charles Aiport located just north of Castries, however we were happy to get to the know island roads right off the bat as you do drive from the southern tip of the island all the way to Northern tip.

Once we arrived at Xanadu, we were exhausted so hearing all the security measures they have in place was a little unnerving, but after a good night sleep we got the hang of the security system and measures and also very much enjoyed our evening security guard named Skeet (7pm to 7am every night). Viola, the housekeeper is charming. She was never at the house overnight while we were there, but she was around a few of the days from 9am to 3pm (She does not work Sundays, and because of the Christmas holiday she had Thursday and Friday off as well).

The house is absolutely gorgeous architecturally and decoratively, including stunning 180 degree views.

We chartered a motor boat out of Rodney Bay for the day early on in our stay. The boat was called Exodus and was large, new looking and awesome. We motored from Rodney Bay to Anse Chastanet so we could drop a couple of our boys for a morning of scuba diving while the rest of us visited Soufriere and snorkeled near the Pitons. We saw hundreds of dolphins which was a lot of fun as well. The snorkeling was o.k. at best, which was surprising to me as I had been in the area 30 years earlier and had vivid memories of the marine life and coral.

We also drove to Dennery later in the week for a fabulous day of zip lining, hiking and biking the rainforest. Even the ride there was beautiful through banana plantations, various villages and the rainforest. We then capped that visit by stopping at Marigot Bay on our return for a mid day meal at the marina.

The locals on the island are as nice as can be. The grocery stores in Rodney Bay are just like those at home – which came as a pleasant surprise – especially at the Deli and when picking out wines.

All in all we had a fantastic time and only wish we had stayed a few days longer.
